Since I - and a lot of other users - have experienced an ever increasing number of log entries telling us that we are under heavy SSH Bruteforce Attacks, I have expanded the Installing OpenWrt Tutorial a bit by adding a section on how to Protect your OpenWrt Router against SSH Bruteforce Attacks .

The approach includes using your iptables firewall to only allow a certain number of connections to port 22 in a fixed timeframe from every IP address. This will NOT make people stop trying to hack your passwords, but it will let them try only a few times before their IP is banned for an amount of time, and hence make the bruteforce approach non-useable.
