Hello I have just both nas wap-0007 - with firmware from wmu-6000 - and I have 2 problems.
First with 80gigs disk - which starts and stops -I don't know why.- it always finishes with reboot of device because after sometime it freezes. I asked seller what to do - and I got answer if i like to download torrents I should use lan = not wireless connection - is it true? Or maybe I should install another firmware?

Second thing I have to ask you for is - I bought 2 devices - the same - on another one I tried to install Shufties version of soft - I used infos from wiki (I read what I could - sometimes referals are to pages which don't exist = some img)- to change header of firmware - and after another try something went really wrong and device doesn't connect (on wire) to my computer. I am thinking of reprogramming jtag - but to tell the truth I don;t know what cable to buy - wher to plug it to device (I understood I plug serial something to computer) and I ask if it's worth buying such cable. I am so desperate I thought about sending device to someone - but I'd rather like to learn something new if it's possible Wink

Please help...idea of NAS is great thing and I really like to have some fun with it.

Thanks

Chris

Hi,

If you're still interested, and if you haven't already, it might be better to post on this topic:

http://www.macsat.com/macsat/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,50/board,9.0/

schufti still posts there, and he and Ernst helped me quite a bit with my SMCWAPS-G lately Smiley.

Also re. your 2nd paragraph, post on that other topic exactly what you did.  Also, are you sure it's not responding (again, post on the other topic)?  Maybe it's listening on an IP or port that you're not expecting?

Again, post to the other topic.

Good luck,
Jim
