Hiya,

I've just added a new user in my airlive 6500fs but when I try to assign it a password by running the comand passwd it just through the following error:

[root@Airlive_Storage C]# passwd userxxx
Changing password for userxxx
Enter the new password (minimum of 5, maximum of 8 characters)
Please use a combination of upper and lower case letters and numbers.
Enter new password:
Re-enter new password:
passwd: An error occurred updating the password file.

Any idea about how to workaround this problem?

Thanks!!!

Thanks JoKeR,

I'm now in the Guest mode and kind of scared of trying to go to the Authoization mode on the WebUI. I currently have 3 partitions (rather than just the public and private) and last time I tried, at the very beginning I found this problem Sad

"The situation is that I had 3 partitions, after going to Authorization mode it did something to the whole disk (not just to the 1st two partitions) and then it emptied the 3rd partition (where I had already data!!! Sad ). I managed to reconstruct the partitions table and I have read the only thing I need to do now is to update the fstab file with the new information and the problem should be fixed after a reboot."

If the WebUI is the only solution, I suppose I'll need to buy another external HD and back-up all my data there before I try, just in case.
