Hi,

thanks for the nice OpenWRT/AsusWl500gx tutorial.
What I was missing, is a description of how to setup pppoe on WAN, which I took from http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Configuration#head-4c0321477debe213e4e74d6712936b9082128d42

PPPoE works fine, ping/ssh to WL500gx works fine, pinging from WL500gx to outside works fine. Unfortunately pinging and connecting through WL500gx to the Internet does not work.
What are the adjustments to /etc/firewall.user that need to be done to work with ppp0? Has anyone a clue?

Thanks,
Markus

Since I dont have PPPOE here I am afraid I am unable to help you out on this issue.

If you find a solution please do let me know though, since I will then put it in the Tutorial !

Sorry,

it was late when I was trying to setup pppoe. If you follow http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Configuration#head-4c0321477debe213e4e74d6712936b9082128d42
exactly, then WAN=$(nvram get wan_ifname) is ppp0 and the firewall works happily.

Thanks, Markus
