Hi,
Nearly a year ago I decided to get a mail server running on an Asus WL-500gP using the Macsat XMail tutorial... after a couple of false starts, a few problems which Macsat helped me out with and a lot of head scratching I got it running.  It only has a couple of users and it sits inside my NAT network (Linksys WRT54G dd-wrt) with SMTP port forwarding set on the router with a dynamic IP and DYNDNS for my domain name resolution...

At the time I was pretty happy about it and Macsat asked if I would keep posted on how it was going...  Well, there is not much load on it but I can say that its been rock solid and hasn't hiccuped at all or need to be rebooted.. the uptime reads 342 days so I think that's a testament to the stability of the hardware, White Russian (RC6) and the application itself.

The WL-500gP also has lighttpd running a basic web page (not public) and phpxmail for mail-user admin... I also have a php webmail interface to access mail from outside through a SSH tunnel.  Its been a useful learning experience and a fun experiment.  I hope others get the same success ...and also hope I haven't brought a "crash" on myself for talking about it.

Regards,

Chris
