Hi,

i update the levelone wap-0007 with the MGB100 image an now my printer is not
working anymore. Embarrassed

The Device Information says that:

USB2

Printer Model Name:Hewlett-Packard hp LaserJet 1005 series (Full speed)
Printer Queue Name:usblp0
Status:Unknown Error

In the Sysemlog:

Mar 18 15:41:25 syslog: lpd command = lpd -f lp -o /dev/usblp0 &
Mar 18 15:41:25 syslog: lpd V1.1 By Steve Flynn, June 1999: started.
Mar 18 15:43:35 httpd: into /proc/printer/usblp0
Mar 18 15:43:35 httpd: Find printer usblp0

Now, i tried so many thing to get it work:
  • Change usb1 to usb2 and back  Sad
  • connect via telnet to find /proc/printer/usblp0  Sad
  • reboot device, printer.......  Sad

Have somewone a litle idea why it's not working?

I think source used to make MGB100 image has not support for USB printer and the error can be in the boot scripts. Source was for Conceptronic CHD2WLANU and I have not a USB printer to test it.
I remember modules for scanner and printer was included in original kernel core but i dont remember if i leave it disabled to free space.
¿Can you paste the dmesg last lines before and after plug the printer? (changes)

You can mount USB proc fs with: mount -t usbdevfs none /proc/bus/usb
and then  cat /proc/bus/usb/drivers to show drivers included in kernel.

Hi pagano,

# mount -t usbdevfs none /proc/bus/usb
# cat /proc/bus/usb/drivers
         usbdevfs
         hub
48- 63: usbscanner
  0- 15: usblp
         usb-storage

But i don't how to get the dmesg. Are written to the (# cat /var/log/messages
)?
In the #cat /etc/printcap

lp|usblp:\
        :mx#0:\
        :lp=/dev/usblp0:\
        :sh:

Seems driver is installed in core "usblp".

Maybe wap-0007 ROM has an init or hotplug changes for the printer system. I can't test it. Sorry.
If you can get wap-0007 sources, check the MGB100/rootfs/bak.etc/rc.d/* and compare it with the ROM
check hotplug(binary) hotplug.sh, inittab, rc.* if they are diferent from the ROM, copy or change it.

rc.bridge is the only file changed in the source to get telnet server.
If you find the changed files, post here and we will have printer support too  Wink

Check /etc/samba/smb.conf     It is no shared <- Mi english is "unshared" too  Grin
You can kill servers (smbd and nmbd) change the file to add the printer share and restart the daemons.
In firmware can be auto-done with the autoexec script every boot.
I don't known the needed changes, sorry. ¿Have you tried to share it with the web aministration page?
