Hi,

I just buy a wireless router ASUS WL-500g Premium.

I use it for routing, print server, file server, video monitoring and for download (this router can donwload alone without a connected computer).

Then my question is :
If I change to OpenWRT can I keep all those functionalities I use actually with the standard manufacturer package ?

I need more functionalities like : web server and mail server. Can you confirm that OpenWRT allows well to upgrade this router (with a connected HD) with the web and mail server functionnalities ?

Sincerely thanks and sorry for disturbing.

Have a nice day,

Miguipda ;-)

I believe you will lose the feature of Download master. But, you can install samba, ctorrent and other packages which can provide a similar function.

This is excately true.

You will loose the download master. Everything else can be brought to work.

you can still download using wget or bittorrent, but not use the download master windows app.

This answer covers both OpenWrt and Olegs Firmware.
