I recently bought the Mitsubishi R100 (This is a ASUS WL-500g rebadged) for a VERY low price! (About US$38 inc. GST.)
The official ASUS firmware works on it, and so does Oleg's one. The issue I'm experiencing is Oleg's firmware isn't as stable as DD-WRT.
Every hour or so, it stops all connections when one person is streaming video! I set the concurrent connections to 4096, but that doesn't help.
It also has trouble with connecting to an Aussie ISP called BigPond Broadband Cable...10Mbit/128k. There is something seriously wrong with the bpalogin inplementation. (I think Oleg inherited the problem from the official ASUS firmware).
Now the issue I'm having with DD-WRT is that when you try the regular or "Standard" version of the more recent DD-WRT v23 SP2, it locks up my router! (The LAN side does NOT respond once the firmware is installed!)...I thought it was bricked and it scared the heck out of me!
I was able to recover from it by continuously pinging and manually uploading the default ASUS firmware via Mitsubishi firmware restore tool. (Its just the ASUS tool renamed!)...Then to Oleg's firmware.
I'll try the VPN version of DD-WRT to see how it goes.
