Recommending jffs2 firmware - not

Hi
I note that you link to the OpenWrt downloads specifically the jffs2 version of the firmware. Why do you do this?
The jffs version seems to cause the most support problems (in #openwrt) because failsafe does not work properly. For non-expert OpenWrt users the format of choice should be
squashfs
as you can boot failsafe and recover if you make a configuration error.

You have a point in many ways.
But the squashfs version is a bit harder to configure, since you have to copy the config files and overwrite the link files to override the ROM settings.
But true - failsafe is better in this version.
