Hi,
I have update my wl-500g deluxe with the firwmare 03.12.05-dd-wrt.v23.std_beta2
1 : original firmware
2 : update to WL500gx_1.9.5.0_EN.trx
3 : update to 03.12.05-dd-wrt.v23.std_beta2
I have no problem and "all basic feature" seem works goods.

Why 3/12/05 ? because i have a wrt54gs with the same date firmware and i am very happy with this release.
I think the two USB for HDD or Printer or ... is not ready to use with dd-wrt (newbee)   Tongue

Happy to be participate in this forum.

It might be true the the USB drivers are not yet a standard part of the dd-wrt firmware.

I am pretty sure that you can use the USB drivers from OpenWRT in your jffs2 partition of dd-wrt :-)

Oh sure, but it's not easy for a newbee.  Tongue
I have try to enable jffs2 and clead jff2 -> asus all led blink at interval of 60sec  Huh
I have recovery with :
1. pull power cable and wait 20 seconds
2. keep button pressed and connect power cable: power led should flash
3. ping 192.168.1.1 should reply else redo steps 1 and 2
4. run Asus Firmware restoration tool, select firmware file (e.g. WL500gx_1.9.5.0_EN.trx)

ouf, I love this router for use the 2 USB application.
strange feedback : asus wl500gd & wrt54gs with emule.
wrt download 24h/24h with 100-200kb on emule ( 10-20 files)
asus 24h/24h download with 30-100kb on emule but not more files (5-10 files)

But it's good, i have a usr8054 who disconnect from ISP when emule start  Grin

This is my newbee contribution...next step, use openwrt and of course linux shell command Smiley

I can only recommend using OpenWRT - to me it seems like it is the best performing firmware around...:-)

Setting it up using my tutorials should be pretty straight forward.

Updated of the tutorials are on the way BTW !

I have similar problems (firmware 25-12-2005) , but the following links helped me:
I first followed http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.php?title=Jffs and then I noticed the discussion attached to it: http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.php?title=Talk:Jffs .

Finally I was able to actually perform the settings using the webinterface.

However my jffs simply turned out to be full
Too bad because the trafficshaping in dd-wrt allowed me to easily have azureus clients without disturbing the other traffic, and without having to modify these clients.
On the other hand it may be that merely increasing the number of connections to 4096 with timeouts of 90s did the trick.
