The OpenWRT guys are working on a webinterface for their excellent firmware.

This is a few screenshots of an early version :-)

Yes.

If you install the newer preRC5 builds, the webinterface will be included.

Thoose builds can be found here, and are VERY stable - regardless of the "pre" name.

There is also a webif in RC4 if I am not mistaken, but it is an older version with a lot less fuctions.

Install by:

Code:
ipkg update
ipkg install webif

It will be installed in the /www dir, and if you have the original busybox web server running, it will work out-of-the-box

Which download is it? (for a wl-500gx).  None have pre RC5 in their file titles.

Thanks,

I just used http://downloads.openwrt.org/people/nbd/whiterussian/openwrt-brcm-2.4-jffs2-4MB.trx which seemed to be the right software.

I had a few attempts at getting the firmware up and running but ran into a problem where I wasn't sure if I should be using macsat tutorial for wrt or using the webinterface.  I gave up when I couldn't get DHCP working for my wireless clients.

i just installed webif. this thing is useful as i do not know how to modify my wireless/lan settings manually. i reenabled my httpd server on a different port because i have lighttpd running on port 80. although i havent reconfigured my setup thru this but this thing will come in handy.  as of now im happy with my current settings which was derived from oleg firmware. probably the nvram settings was never touched by openwrt during the transition.

thanks macsat! Smiley

I installed the webif but I receive the error message:

     exec: 2: ./webif/info.sh: not found

when I try to open it. But info.sh DOES exist and seems to have the proper file access rights.

Anybody?

Many thanks,

Peter

P.S.
Solved my problem!!! I installed the webinterface with the "-d opt" option.
This means that the scripts should be adapted a little as the pathnames
change a little (/opt/usr instead of /usr  etcetera) Smiley
