Instead of using the search field above, try to click the "looking glass" and use the search that appears there.

Then search for "kexec" or "monte"

I dont know why there is a difference, will try to look into it!

....should be fixed now, so that the quick search field yields the same results. Also search in general should be better and maybe even faster.

We are using a small, very cheap device here :-)

If you want better performance, you should go for a "real" NAS solution, like the Buffalo Linkstation Pro or something like that. From that I get around 10-11 MB/sec read/write with SAMBA over Ethernet.

I dont have Gigabit, but the devices does support that. As 11 MB/sec is very close to 100Mbit, I dont know if the limit I see is the network or the device.

Can't you just make a symlink to the USB disk in the PUBLIC folder?

Something like:

Code:
cd /mnt/disk1/PUBLIC
ln -s /mnd/usbdisk1

I am NOT sure about theese paths, as I havent used my own device in quite some time, but I hope you get the general idea.

Is there a way to install asterisk on a asuswl500w? There seems to be no package in ipkg.

I would think that the packages you can find here would work:
http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/unslung/wl500g/

I havent tested though, so I cant say for sure.

Did you try in a browser to access one of the imagefiles directly?

...or whatever the files are called (I dont quite remember).

Nope.

This looks very much running :-)

Does:
Code:
logread

show you any cron entries?

Accessing the WinXP client that you have directly on the Trendnet router FROM one of the PC's connected to the ASUS Should work out of the box I think !

Did you start the cron process at all?

Kalin: No worries. All questions are welcome, if someone has a hot temper and can't undestand that not everyone is at the same skill level, they should either exhale or consider not reading the forum  Smiley

You need to provide some more info.

Does any .rrd files get generated? Any picture files?

15  Oleg's Firmware / Tutorials / Re: Mail server on: April 03, 2008, 07:06:55 AM

Olegs firmware could be the problem, yes :-)

OpenWrt Kamikaze should work on that device.

Not sure the xmail build will though!
