Title: MGB111 on MGB100 ???? !!!
Post by: schufti on January 22, 2008, 17:37:06 PM
Hi!

Did you MGB100 owners ever want to know what is the difference to MGB111?
Would the "big thing" be worth the extra money?
Do not despair! Here comes the answer .....

Do not use it on HD with valuable content!
Quota/permissions need repartition/reformat!
Do not expect to get errorfree operation!
Do not complain afterwards, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I only tested basic features, so it is up to YOU to test all the surplus functions and report back to me ....

some additional warnings:

You can only flash it via recovery loader!
You can only go back by flashing an original fw image for your box via recovery loader !!!
You cannot load anything via GUI (except new! saved settings)

Here is the ported MGB111 fw to work on MGB100 (http://rapidshare.com/files/85726937/MGB_111_100.img).

autobootfs should work (but why flash new MGB1xx FW then at all....), kernel nfs, etc should work also.

rgds,
schufti

Do not bring me in the ignore list. I from Russia and badly understand English language. At us discuss WAP-0008 a little, therefore I try to find the information at you.

Hi Schufti

I tested this. Until now it works great! I don't have a HD installed yet, so I can't test most of the features. But as soon as I do, I will report back  :)

This is very nice. Could please describe what changes you did to the Airlive sources to get this image? Or just upload the sources?
