Title: WDS ip-adresses Post by: nsn on October 08, 2007, 19:14:42 PM Hello,
I like to have WDS between 2 Asus devices. Also i want to be able to get in the 2 Asus devices because they both have a http service running. Can both WL500G get a reachable ip-adress in wds mode ? Please help me out here.. I can make a WDS connection but i want both AP's to be accesable from the WAN side. Thanks NSN Title: Re: WDS ip-adresses Post by: macsat on October 09, 2007, 08:36:13 AM Even in WDS mode all devices have an ip. That ip can be accessed. I can't get WDS working. I've a computer at 192.168.5.95, AP1: 192.168.5.2, AP2: 192.168.5.3 It's not possible to ping all the IP-adresses. See my nvram in attchments. Please can you help me out here ? Title: Re: WDS ip-adresses Post by: macsat on October 09, 2007, 11:58:55 AM For WDS to work, you have to change wl0_wds in AP1 to be the MAC address of AP2, and in AP2 it has to be set to the MAC address of AP1. Is this the way you have done it ? Did you start by testing without encryption/security ? macsat Title: Re: WDS ip-adresses Post by: nsn on October 09, 2007, 12:49:51 PM As far as i can see i did it rigtht.. so filled in the MACadress of the other router:
AP1=> MAC=00:11:D8:56:53:13 wl0_wds 00:0E:A6:F0:48:0A AP2=> MAC=00:0E:A6:F0:48:0A wl0_wds 00:11:D8:56:53:13 Please have a look in the attached excelfile if i missed something I've no security (WEP or something) enabled Title: Re: WDS ip-adresses Post by: macsat on October 09, 2007, 13:28:43 PM Seems to be correct. Can you see any "talk" of WDS in the system log? Title: Re: WDS ip-adresses Post by: nsn on October 09, 2007, 16:16:52 PM No when i do a logread i don't see any WDS talk. The strange thing is that client mode seems to work so why not wds ? What else can i do ? I double checked the MAC adresses (ifconfig). Can i reload some packages ?
Title: Re: WDS ip-adresses Post by: nsn on October 12, 2007, 11:16:52 AM Hello ... can anyone help me out !
I switched from openwrt to DD-WRT (used the same WL500G). In this case WDS works fine. I need however to run openwrt. I cleared the nvram as descibed in the wiki for DD-WRT. After this i switched back to the openwrt. My nvram looks like: wl0_frameburst=0 wan_device=vlan1 et0macaddr=00:11:D8:56:53:13 wl0_akm=none watchdog=3000 boot_wait=on wl0_infra=1 et0mdcport=0 pmon_ver=PMON 3.11.19.0 wl0_ifname=eth2 wl0_mode=ap wl0_ap_isolate=0 os_flash_addr=bfc40000 wl0_gmode=1 boardtype=bcm94710dev et1macaddr=00:11:D8:56:53:13 lan_dhcp_num= lan_netmask=255.255.255.0 wl0_dtim=1 wl0_ssid=hcontrol3 et1mdcport=1 wl0_key1=*********** (This is replaced by *...NSN... Both AP's have same WEP key) lan_dhcp_enabled=1 wl0_plcphdr=long wl0_closed=0 wl0_macmode=disabled wl0_lazywds=0 wl0_antdiv=3 wan_proto=none wl0_txpwr=28 wl0_wds=00:60:B3:99:EB:08 wan_dhcp_num= ntp_server=pool.ntp.org lan_ifnames=eth0 eth2 lan_proto=static lan_ipaddr=192.168.0.15 clkfreq=125 wl0_frag=2346 wl0_wep=enabled sdram_config=0x0000 scratch=a0180000 lan_ifname=br0 sdram_refresh=0x8040 sdram_ncdl=0x00000000 hardware_version=WL500-02-04-02-40 wl0_rts=2347 wl0_key=1 et0phyaddr=30 wifi_dhcp_start= wan_ifname=eth1 wifi_dhcp_num= wifi_dhcp_lease= wl0_radio=1 wl0_bcn=100 wan_dhcp_start= lan_dhcp_start= wl0_gmode_protection=1 wl0_maclist= wan_dhcp_lease= sdram_init=0x0419 lan_dhcp_lease= dl_ram_addr=a0001000 regulation_domain=0X30DE wl0_txdiv=3 wl0_channel=4 et1phyaddr=0 boardnum=asusX wl0_crypto=tkip Title: WDS ip-adresses Post by: nsn on October 12, 2007, 14:05:00 PM Started all over following exactly the tutorial for installing openwrt.
But before i completely erased the nvram. I can not get WDS working at openwrt. .... :( .... who has it running on openwrt/webif.... ?
