Title: Mail server Post by: green on December 05, 2006, 11:12:39 AM Hi,
is possible to run on asus any mail server? Is any tutorial for oleg's tutorial?I have domain blahblah.net and I would like to create my email blahblah@blahblah.net. Is it possible? thanks Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on December 05, 2006, 11:21:10 AM Yes - it is possible to run xmail. I will create a tutorial for it (on OpenWrt, but simular should be possible in Olegs) once I get the time. I am currently quite busy with real life, as I have switched jobs and moved to a new city - it all takes time.... Title: Re: Mail server Post by: green on December 05, 2006, 12:18:18 PM Ok thanks it will be great. I'm looking forward to tutorial ;)

Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on December 20, 2006, 10:34:54 AM Only news is that it's a bit delayed. I'll try to get around to it as soon as possible. With some luck before newyears. Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on December 20, 2006, 15:16:28 PM I did indeed get some time. The Tutorial is now online ! macsat Title: Re: Mail server Post by: green on December 21, 2006, 09:24:41 AM Thanks very much it's great ;)
But I'm using oleg;s firmware and my problem is: I can't to run XMCrypt to create password: ./XMCrypt haloo ./XMCrypt: can't load library 'libstdc++.so.6' On my router is installed libstdc++ When I create password in windows so the same mistake is after running server /opt/etc/init.d/S70xmail start Starting XMail server: /opt/var/MailRoot/bin/XMail: can't load library 'libstdc++.so.6' Can I fix it? Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on December 21, 2006, 09:27:11 AM I cant guarentee anything on Olegs firmware. The binaries (and the tutorial) is made specifically for OpenWrt - not for Olegs firmware. Title: Re: Mail server Post by: green on December 21, 2006, 09:32:00 AM Yes I know it. I tried to run on Oleg's .So I have to change to OPENWRT.
thx Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on December 21, 2006, 10:25:58 AM I think that once you have tried OpenWrt - you wont regret ! :-) Title: Re: Mail server Post by: green on December 21, 2006, 10:39:19 AM Nono I didn't try OPEnwrt yet. I'm fear that is too hard for me.
IS on OPENwrt possible boot openwrt from usb stick? Title: Re: Mail server Post by: nkamp on December 16, 2007, 21:12:22 PM Hello Green,
I use Oleg's firmware as well. Did succeed you're mailserver on olegs firmware based or not? I'm interested as well. Thanks in advance, Nico Title: Re: Mail server Post by: raceface on March 31, 2008, 18:29:49 PM I tried several times to get the xmail-server working. First problem was that I didn't get OpenWRT or X-WRT on my WL500W running. Now with oleg's firmware everything seems to be all-right, but when I try to install the libstdc++ i get the error-message
Installing libstdc++ (6.0.3-2) to root... ipkg: Cannot create symlink from ./usr/lib/libstdc++.so to 'libstdc++.so.6.0.3': Read-only file system ipkg: Cannot create symlink from ./usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 to 'libstdc++.so.6.0.3': Read-only file system ipkg: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.3: Read-only file system How can I fix this? Regards Andy Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on March 31, 2008, 19:44:31 PM By using /opt as target maybe? Code: ipkg -d opt install <packagename> Title: Re: Mail server Post by: raceface on March 31, 2008, 20:30:25 PM Why ever, i get the error ERROR: Unknown dest name: `/opt'.
But the drive ist already mounted and usable. I tried different directories but everytime the same error. Any idea? regards andy Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on April 01, 2008, 06:19:56 AM You should read this tutorial: http://www.macsat.com/macsat/content/view/16/30/ Title: Re: Mail server Post by: raceface on April 02, 2008, 01:35:09 AM At first I read and did this tutorial http://www.macsat.com/macsat/content/view/22/29/
after that this one you mentioned and then I started to install xmail. Maybe the problem is, that I have Oleg's firmware installed. But I wasn't able to get other firmwares running on my WL500W. Neither open-wrt, dd-wrt or x-wrt. regards Andy Title: Re: Mail server Post by: macsat on April 03, 2008, 07:06:55 AM Olegs firmware could be the problem, yes :-) OpenWrt Kamikaze should work on that device. Not sure the xmail build will though! Title: Re: Mail server Post by: raceface on April 07, 2008, 18:58:11 PM I read that Kamikaze should work on that device, but it doesn't. If I install Kamikaze the router seems to hang up. After rebooting all LEDs for the LAN ports are enlighted an never go out. I tried several firmwares but only got Oleg's working on the router.
