Title: Talk about the upcoming DD-WRT 0.23 for ASUS WL Series
Post by: macsat on August 09, 2005, 10:37:01 AM
This board is intended to contain discussions about BrainSlayers excellent dd-wrt (www.dd-wrt.com (http://www.dd-wrt.com)) build for ASUS WL-500g and friends.

As BrainSlayer is now porting his dd-wrt to use OpenWRT as  Base instead of Linksys Firmware / Alchemy, it makes it possible to deliver builds for the ASUS WL-Series devices as well.

BrainSlayer is currently performing open Alpha tests of the next generation firmware, but at the time beeing only builds for the Linksys WRT 54Gx series. According to him, the builds for Asus are still too unstable for release, primarily because the ASUS WL-500g Deluxe have no J-Tag connecter, hance it is hard to fix a bricked box.

I am looking forward to seeing this software as dd-wrt is known for beeing a GREAT performer with a lot of great features "build-in", like very effective QoS and even a SipPhone proxy.

First beta releases are to be expected "within weeks" according to BrainSlayer.

From here - we cant wait :-)

The documentation for the DD-WRT firmware is found here : http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.php?title=DD-WRT_Docu_%28EN%29
