Connectec MGB100 Information

I hope to share some informations about this little device ... I own a ASUS WLHDD 2.5" with Olegs firmware. But device comes to it's limitations ... only one usb1.1 host port, RAM only 16 MB and slower CPU ... looking for an 2.5" portable (!) alternativ, I found that little device sold in germany by pearl.de!

My first steps ... unpacking and installing a 80 GB harddisk ... firmware 4.00 a6 onboard ... some problem with web interface (WebIF), harddisk ... no telnet, no printer (not very urgent, becuase using a standalone usb/parallel printserver), ... gets me looking for a uctual firmware and moded fw on the web ... now using 4.00b7 ... realizing only more errors ... WebIF error in harddisk tools, flashing hd status led, hanging (not responding) WebIF ...

getting gpl source code from pearl, smc, ... comparing the packages and WebIF lets and comment on the different devices lets me first be a little frustrated ... now trying to get some forward ... goal is a nice oleg-like firmware and a howto

now its time for some work, giving some more information soon, maybe end of week. Hope more people will share informations ...

Good luck Martin
