Im having a heck of a time making this transition. I am currently on the latest Oleg firmware, but would like to switch to openwrt on my WL-HDD.   Most of the instructions I have found don't seem to work though.  With boot_wait enabled, the HDD never seems to look for a tftp server.  I have put the firmware onto the drive itself, but no mtd command exists.  Does anyone have any experience making the move from Oleg to Open on this device?

I know it's bad taste to reply to your own message, but...

The problem is that my version of WL-HDD does not set the productid nvram variable, so I had the incorrect interfaces placed into my br0 interface.  The flash worked just fine, but the box came up essentialy only accessable over the wifi interface, which I wasn't using.   A quick and dirty fix is to add nvram_product_id="WLHDD" to /etc/nvram.overrides.
